6 Makeup Hacks to Accentuate the Eyes

Are you new at doing your own makeup and want to make your eyes stand out? Or do you want to know some tips from experts to enhance the beauty of your eyes? Well, you have come to the right place. Let’s take a look at some of the best simple makeup tricks to make your eyes pop.

1. Add some drama
You can use eyeliner to alter the shape of your eyes. If you have eyes that are a bit small, then you can make them bigger with this simple trick. Try a smoky wraparound. Conversely, if you want to elongate the width of your eyes, then you can create an exaggerated winged tip.

2. Make use of your mascara
Hold a business card along the inside edge of your eyelashes. Then, with your other hand, sweep the brush against it. Doing this prevents your eyelashes from bending out of the way. This way, you can also coat the entire length of the eyelash, from root to tip. Needless to say, with this look, you will be left wide-eyed in more ways than one.

3. Layer your eyeliner
If you are not a makeup artist, you may find it hard to create thin lines around the eyes. In this case, use a pencil liner first, because it is easy to create a straight line with it. After this, trace back along that same line with a liquid liner (this method is more like coloring.) The result is that your eyeliner will stay well-lined, bringing good definition to your eyes.

4. Use white to open up the eyes
Do you know what makes the eyes pop? A white eye pencil. Use it to line the inside rim of your lower eyelids. If you have close-set eyes, then use the liner to create a light line on the section where the lower and upper eyelids meet. Doing this will make your eyes look wide apart. It’s a subtle yet effective trick!

5. Highlight correctly
Many women make the mistake of highlighting their eyes in the wrong places. Apply a sparkly, light eyeshadow right below the brow and near your tear duct. When the light bounces off your eyes, they will appear more attractive. However, sometimes makeup and debris can end up clogging the tear duct, so make sure you cleanse your eyes thoroughly before applying and while removing makeup.

6. Select the right eyeshadow
Use an eyeshadow color that complements your complexion. If you have blue eyes, then use copper and bronze shades. Brown, hazel, and green eyes may require the taupe or purple range. You should try warmer eyeshadows if you have a darker skin tone.
