6 Natural Ways to Treat Hyperhidrosis
The condition of sweating because of no evident reason is called hyperhidrosis. People with hyperhidrosis experience sweat dripping off their clothes and hands. Needless to say, it causes a lot of embarrassment. Here are some easy ways of treating hyperhidrosis at home.
1. Decrease the sodium intake in food
When you consume too much salt in your food, your body has to exert more to get rid of it. As a result of which, you sweat a lot. For treating hyperhidrosis at home , you should try and reduce your sodium intake as much as possible. Preferably, you can restrict it to four grams.
2. Use apple cider vinegar

You can apply apple cider vinegar to your skin using a cotton ball, most preferably before going to bed. You can then wash it off once you wake up in the morning.

Drinking water helps regulate your body’s temperature and is, therefore, one of the easiest ways to treat hyperhidrosis at home. Calculate how much water you should consume, divide your weight in half (in pounds), and the result you get will be the ounces of water you should consume.
4. Eat foods that expedite digestion
While there are certain food items that can aggravate the symptoms of hyperhidrosis, there are certain food items that may help reduce these symptoms. For instance, you can include foods that expedite digestion, such as celery, grapefruit, olive oil, leafy greens, watermelon, and bell peppers.
5. Drink sage tea
Sage tea is rich in vitamin B and magnesium. These are the components that help slow down hyperhidrosis by slowing down overactive sweating glands. All you need to do is brew and drink sage tea on a regular basis. If you cannot get your hands on sage, you can instead try black or green tea instead. Black tea, for instance, has more tannic acid than your normal tea.
Other than drinking black tea, you can fill a foot bath basin with approximately one liter of hot water and two bags of black tea. Then, let your foot or hands sit in the water for 20-30 minutes.
6. Avoid wearing heavy clothes
Heavy clothes are known to trap sweat. So, if you have hyperhidrosis, you should avoid wearing heavy garments. Instead, you should switch to breathable and light fabrics such as silk and cotton. Also, when engaging in high-intensity activities like exercising outdoors, make sure you carry an extra shirt or piece of clothing.
